Who is that dork, Mallory Smart?
Oh, you want to know about me? Well, I’m Mallory Smart, the writer who somehow manages to juggle being the Editor-in-Chief of Maudlin House and hosting not one, but two podcasts. Yes, that’s right, I talk about music and literature on Textual Healing and dive into the world of horror movies on That Horrorcast. Because why not add more chaos to my life?
I wrote “The Only Living Girl In Chicago”, a novel that probably made you question your life choices, and a few other pieces like the poetry collection “I Want To Feel Happy But I Only Feel__”. Oh, and let’s not forget my experimental hybrid short story collection “THE WRITER”. I released that random one on News Year’s Eve so I could feel some form of validation at the end of the year, but then came “I Keep My Visions To Myself.” It was one those things that I had no intention of writing, but hey, I was stuck in a cabin in Indiana for a few weeks. What else was I supposed to do?
And now, you can dive even deeper into my world on Substack! Subscribe to this aptly named Substack, The Only Girl In Chicago, because thats legit who I am. I’ll be sharing updates about my writing, podcasts, and random trivia I stumble upon. I’d say “trust me, you don’t want to miss out on this,” but really you’d probably fine without doing so…
So, what are you waiting for? Hit that subscribe button and get updates on how weird I’m feeling each week!
Legit why subscribe though?
My writing is dark, twisty, and refreshingly honest—way dorkier than your usual reads. I cover everything from literature and music to quirky takes on horror movies, so there's always something cool to dive into…
